Graphic Designer Opportunity

Who is HERD? We are the leader in the front-end collision protection industry. We are currently seeking a qualified and talented individual to join our Marketing team in the role of Graphic Designer. If you are a graphic designer looking for an opportunity that allows you to use your talents and grow professionally, then look no further!

What you will do: create visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate our consumers. You will develop the overall layout and production designs for advertisements, sell sheets, showroom collateral and content for the corporate website, using HERD’s brand standards and visual identity as a guide.

What you will be GREAT at:
• Design and create images and graphics for print and web which help identify a product or convey a message
• Design and update marketing collateral for our sales team and dealer network including, showroom displays, banners, digital and print material
• Create accurate files for production (electronic or hard-copy publication)
• Develop and work on our social media campaigns and provide reports
• Execute photo and video shoots for launches of new products, options and features
• Edit and produce videos for the purposes of advertising, product training (internal and external) and product announcements

What YOU MUST have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design with minimum of 1 Year of experience or internship OR Associate Degree in Graphic Design with a minimum 2 years’ experience
• A highly creative and artistic track record
• Provable experience in using:
o Illustrator
o InDesign
o Photoshop
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• The ability to take constructive criticism well
• Great time-management skills and be fully able to work on multiple projects at the same time, each with different deadlines
• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to add value to the business and people around them.

Product Designer: Engineering Team

Product Designer

HERD, founded in 2002, is one of North America’s leading front-end collision production manufacturing companies. We are looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our engineering team.

We transform sheet and tubular aluminum, steel and stainless steel into four distinct product lines, bumper guards, grill guards, pickup guards and truck guards. Our products are installed on late-model class 8 trucks and heavy duty pickups, and have been featured on “Shipping Wars”, “Ice Road Truckers”, and “Transformers II”.

The engineering team utilizes high-end IBM CAD stations running SolidWorks to design products that focus on light-weighting and collision protection. The engineering team also plays a key role in advancing manufacturing processes, by employing a design-for-manufacture approach when creating new features and product innovations.

Duties Include:
 Designing new products and making product improvements;
 Creating CAD models and drawings;
 Documenting third party equipment;
 Providing technical support to Customer Service and Operations;
 Designing and performing empirical tests;
 Performing static F.E.A. Simulations; and
 Leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
 Eligible for certification with APEGM or CTTAM
 Minimum of 3 Years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in a Manufacturing environment)
 Background in metal fabrication is an asset
 Strong background in product development
 Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Background in Lean Manufacturing/operational excellence is an asset
 3D Modeling Experience (Experience with Solidworks would be an asset)
 Excellent Analyzing and Problem Solving Skills
 Demonstrated ability to work on self-directed engineering projects
 Ability to communicate both verbally and written in the English language
 Own Transportation (public transportation is not available)

Desired experience:

-Able to read/use a metric tape measure is a must

-All applicants must have a working knowledge of the English language – both Verbal & Written

-Experience in wood working would be an asset

-Experience with powered hand tools (skill saw, hand router, angle grinders, etc)

-Basic computer skills/knowledge

-Own transportation (public transportation is not available)

HERD North America Inc. is the leader in front-end collision protection. We are currently seeking experienced individuals to join our team in the role of Grinder / Polishers.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-All applicants must have good working knowledge of the English language – both Verbal & Written
-Own transportation (public transportation is not available)

-Experience with hand tools (angle grinders, angle sanders, angle polishers, etc.)

-Previous experience working as a Grinder / Polisher / Sander would be an asset

-Able to work in hot, dusty and fast-paced shop environment while wearing a fill face respirator

-Basic computer skills/knowledge
